Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for a specialist school in Wolverhampton. The roles are full-time, long-term with the potential for permanent positions, focusing on 1:1 pupil support to promote engagement and development.

Successful candidates will assist pupils with ASD/Complex/PMLD needs, demonstrate strong behaviour management, and build positive relationships to help pupils reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with ASD, Complex, PMLD, SLD needs.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis in and out of the classroom.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in Wolverhampton that provides a nurturing and supportive environment for a small number of pupils. The school is committed to helping every young person develop confidence, resilience and essential life skills through positive relationships and personalised support. We currently have 4 active roles with this school, to support on a 1:1 basis.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant on a long-term basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils with a range of needs both in and out of the classroom, encouraging engagement with learning, promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils develop their communication, social and emotional skills.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with ASD, Complex, PMLD, SLD needs
• A passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people

Salary: £95 to £120 per day
