Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking an SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to support a class in Bury. You will assist in classroom management and support students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, following the primary curriculum and helping students manage their behaviour.

The role is full-time, temp to perm, with ASAP start. Initial safeguarding training is desirable; Prospero provides free CPD and in-house training to support professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with SEMH, Autism or ADHD preferred.
• Experience working within a school or similar setting.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable; training provided)

Responsibilities

• Support in the classroom and with students in small groups or 1:1.
• Follow the primary curriculum and assist with behaviour management.
• Assist with overall classroom management and student support in a primary school setting in Bury.

Prospero Teaching are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant with a calm and caring nature to support within a primary school in Bury. About the role: You will be supporting in management/support in the classroom and with students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis. You will be following the primary curriculum, and support to help the students manage their behaviour. All of the students have been removed from mainstream education due to their behaviour.

CONTRACT /POSITION DETAILS:

• Location - Bury, Manchester
• Position - SEN Primary Teaching Assistant
• Start date - ASAP
• Duration / Likely Duration - Temp to Perm
• Full time/part-time - Full Time
• The minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate of GBP92 per day
• Hours - 08:30 - 15:30

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience of working with students with SEMH, Autism or ADHD - Preferred
• Experience working within a school or similar setting
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as Safeguarding training is provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references
