Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking an SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to support a primary class in Bury. You will assist in classroom management, support small groups or 1:1, and help students engage with the primary curriculum while promoting positive behaviour.

The role requires a caring, calm approach, with safeguarding checks and right to work in the UK. The position is full-time with a temp-to-perm pathway and offers CPD and in-house training.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH, Autism or ADHD is preferred.
• Experience working in a school or similar setting.
• Safeguarding training updated in the last year is desirable though provided.

Responsibilities

• Support in management and classroom assistance with students in small groups or 1:1.
• Help students manage their behaviour and follow the primary curriculum.
• Contribute to safeguarding and welfare of children as part of the Prospero Teaching process.

Are you a caring individual with experience supporting students with additional needs? Are you looking for your next role opportunity? Prospero Teaching are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant with a calm and caring nature to support within a primary school in Bury.

About the role: You will be supporting in management/support in the classroom and with students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis. You will be following the primary curriculum, and support to help the students manage their behaviour. All of the students have been removed from mainstream education due to their behaviour.

CONTRACT /POSITION DETAILS:

• Location - Bury, Manchester
• Position - SEN Primary Teaching Assistant
• Start date - ASAP
• Duration / Likely Duration - Temp to Perm
• Full time/part-time - Full Time
• The minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate of GBP92 per day
• Hours - 08:30 - 15:30

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience of working with students with SEMH, Autism or ADHD - Preferred
• Experience working within a school or similar setting
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as Safeguarding training is provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy.

Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
