Job summary

GSL Education Hull Branch is seeking a dedicated SEN Support Worker to provide one-to-one and small-group assistance across educational settings in Hull. You will support children with SEN, focusing on communication, independence, and daily living skills, while upholding safeguarding standards.

Ideal candidates have prior SEN experience or a strong interest in SEND, and hold or are willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles.
• DBS checks or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to children and young people with SEN.
• Support learning, communication, social, emotional, behavioural, and daily living needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils while providing clear boundaries.
• Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and other professionals to tailor support.
• Monitor engagement and progress and share observations with staff.
