Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced SEN Support TA to work within a specialist education setting in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The role supports pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs with some medical or physiotherapy requirements.

The successful candidate will provide individual and small-group support, help pupils access differentiated activities, and collaborate with teachers and specialists to meet individual care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support for pupils throughout the school day.
• Assist pupils to access differentiated learning activities.

• Work with teachers and specialists to meet individual needs and follow care plans.
• Assist with personal care and medical/physiotherapy requirements as directed.

SEN Support TA - High Wycombe, BuckinghamshireSpecialist support for pupils with complex learning, communication, physical and medical needs.

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced SEN Support TA to work within a specialist education setting in HighWycombe,Buckinghamshire.

The setting supports primary and secondary-aged pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), alongside pupils with complex and severe learning needs. Some pupils have additional medical or physiotherapy requirements, while others are able to access elements of whole-class learning with appropriate support.

The role may involve supporting pupils who require assistance with

• Profound and multiple learning difficulties
• Severe and complex learning needs
• Communication and interaction
• Personal care and physical development
• Medical needs within the school environment
• Physiotherapy programmes and physical support
• Accessing classroom activities and learning opportunities
• Developing independence and functional skills

Day-to-Day

• Providing individual and small-group support throughout the school day
• Helping pupils access differentiated learning activities
• Supporting communication using appropriate strategies and resources
• Working alongside teachers and specialist staff to meet individual needs
• Following agreed medical, physical and therapeutic support plans
• Supporting pupils with personal care where required
• Encouraging independence and participation wherever appropriate
• Maintaining accurate observations and sharing relevant information with the wider team

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, PMLD, complex needs, physical disabilities or medical requirements.

You’ll also need to demonstrate

• Patience and consistency
• A calm and reassuring approach
• Good communication with pupils, colleagues and families
• The ability to follow individual support plans accurately
• A willingness to undertake relevant training
• An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries

Previous experience in a specialist setting is highly desirable, although relevant experience from healthcare, care, support work or education may also be considered.
