Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of needs in a Salford secondary setting. You will work alongside teachers, the SENCO and pastoral team to help pupils access learning and build confidence during school hours.

The role involves small-group interventions, classroom support, and promoting independence while nurturing pupils with ASD, ADHD and SEMH. ASAP start, long-term temp with potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Previous SEN TA or Learning Support experience in education.
• Experience in a mainstream secondary school.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN in lessons and through small-group interventions.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract: Long-term temporary, with potential for permanent employment

Hours: Monday - Friday, school hours

The Role

You will work alongside teachers, the SENCO and the wider pastoral team to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and develop their confidence and independence.

• Supporting pupils with SEN in lessons and through small-group interventions.
• Helping pupils access and engage with the curriculum.
• Supporting students with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Working closely with teaching staff and the SENCO.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging independence.
• Supporting pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.

We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a SEN TA, Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
• Experience working within a mainstream secondary school.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people.
