Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a passionate full-time Teaching Assistant with a sports coaching background to support pupils in SEN/SEMH settings. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping students engage with learning, and using positive strategies to manage behaviours.

Qualifications

• Background in sports coaching, sports education, youth work, mentoring, behaviour support, or SEN support.
• Experience working with children or young people displaying challenging behaviours.
• Confident, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Encouraging engagement with learning and classroom activities.
• Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies.
• Acting as a positive role model and building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Assisting teachers to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
