Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Marple is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with SEN/SEMH at a local school from September. You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff, helping learners access activities, build confidence, and manage challenging situations.

This is a full-time, long-term position with a competitive daily rate and ongoing training within a supportive team. Enhanced DBS clearance is required; the school follows KCSIE safeguarding guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in education, care, coaching, mentoring or support settings.
  • Understanding of SEN and/or SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN/SEMH school in Marple from September.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for students who require additional support to engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support students both in and out of the classroom. This role would suit individuals who are passionate about making a difference and have experience working with young people through education, sports coaching, youth work, mentoring, care, or voluntary work.
