Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Marlow. You will provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs, helping them access tailored learning activities and EHCP targets.

The role is full-time from September 2026, with training opportunities and a refer-a-friend bonus of up to £150. Applicants should have an enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • SEN knowledge including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, inclusive learning activities.
  • Create a positive, safe, nurturing learning environment.
  • Assist in implementing EHCPs and learning targets, monitoring pupil progress.
  • Encourage development of communication, social, emotional and academic skills.
  • Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents and therapists to support pupils.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies are followed at all times.

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school, where you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full academic, personal, and social potential.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, inclusive, and differentiated learning activities tailored to individual pupil needs.

  • Create a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment that promotes confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual learning targets, monitoring and recording pupil progress.

  • Encourage the development of pupils' communication, social, emotional, and academic skills through positive support and encouragement.

  • Promote positive behaviour using effective behaviour management strategies in line with the school's behaviour policy.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, therapists, and other professionals to provide the best possible outcomes for pupils.

  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.


Requirements


  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

  • Knowledge of a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team while using your own initiative when required.

  • A commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
