Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist SEN/SEMH setting in Hillingdon. You will provide 1:1 and small-group behavioural and pastoral support to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them build resilience and engage with education.

The role is full-time, term-time only, with a daily rate of 120-140 GBP depending on experience. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to promote a safe, inclusive learning

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting children or young people in education/SEN/SEMH settings.
• Experience working with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Strong knowledge of positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
• Excellent communication with a calm, patient, and resilient approach.
• Desirable qualifications in SEN, Behaviour, Education, Youth Work or Pastoral care; Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour and pastoral support, helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive strategies.
• Build positive relationships with pupils experiencing SEN, SEMH and challenging behaviour.
• Implement behaviour support plans and use de-escalation techniques.
• Coordinate with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams to monitor behaviour and pupil progress.
• Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment while encouraging attendance and resilience.
