Job summary

Academics is recruiting Secondary SEN Teachers for Halifax across a range of specialist and alternative educational settings.

You’ll deliver tailored curricula designed around EHCP outcomes, supporting pupils with varying needs in a safe, nurturing environment.

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status.
• Experience teaching within an SEN specialist provision, or hold a relevant SEN qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small class and create a positive, supportive learning environment.
• Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEN needs.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with TAs, support staff, families and other professionals.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment and EHCP reviews.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning.

Secondary SEN Teachers - Halifax

Academics are currently recruiting Secondary SEN Teachers for a range of teaching roles across Halifax.

We work with a variety of specialist and alternative educational settings, meaning we have different roles to suit different teachers - whether you're looking for experience in a specialist provision, a smaller class environment, a new challenge, or a role that allows you to focus on individual pupil needs.

As an SEN Teacher, you could be working within a small class, delivering a tailored and engaging curriculum designed around individual EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) outcomes.

Depending on the setting and role, you may be supporting pupils with a range of additional and complex needs, helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally within a safe and nurturing environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Leading a small class and creating a positive, supportive learning environment.
