Job summary

Academics is partnering with inclusive and well-supported Secondary SEMH provisions in Halifax to recruit a dedicated Secondary SEMH Teacher who can inspire confidence and rebuild trust in learning for pupils aged 7-18 with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, use restorative approaches to behaviour, and work with therapists and support staff to support each learner’s academic and emotional development while maintaining safeguarding

Qualifications

• Demonstrated SEMH experience in schools or alternative provisions.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Resilient, empathetic and calm under pressure with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, creative lessons for learners with SEMH needs.
• Apply restorative and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour management.
• Build consistent relationships to support emotional and academic development.
• Collaborate with therapists, mentors and support staff as part of a MDT.
• Monitor progress and celebrate achievements with students.
