Join the Region's Growing SEN WorkforceSmile Education is launching its annual SEN Summer Recruitment Drive as we prepare for the final 6 weeks of the academic year and a high volume of September vacancies across Birmingham, Worcester, Bromsgrove and Redditch.

We are partnering with specialist schools, alternative provisions, resource bases and mainstream schools with SEND provisions that are seeking passionate professionals ready to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

We Are RecruitingSEN Teachers (Primary & Secondary)

  • Deliver engaging and personalised learning programmes
  • Teach pupils with a range of SEND needs
  • Plan and deliver lessons aligned with EHCP outcomes
  • Monitor progress and celebrate achievements
  • Work alongside SENCOs, therapists and support teams

SEN Teaching Assistants

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Support pupils with learning, communication and social development

RequirementsFor SEN Teachers

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

For Teaching Assistants and SEN Professionals

  • Previous experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults
  • Experience in education, care, youth work, residential care or support work is welcomed
  • A patient, resilient and nurturing approach

All Applicants Must Have

  • A passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Two professional references covering the last two years
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
