Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming Primary SEN School in Trafford. The role is full-time with an immediate start, supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and other needs.

You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to tailor support for each pupil, both in class and during activities. DBS enhanced is required or eager to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN in education, care, youth work, or similar settings.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN needs.
• Assist with delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.
• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Implement IEPs and behaviour support strategies.
• Encourage pupil independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, visits and enrichment activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
• Record pupil progress and communicate updates to the team.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
