Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking compassionate Learning Support Assistants to work in Specialist SEN & SEMH schools across South Manchester. You will help pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Ideal candidates will have experience with children or vulnerable groups, a patient and resilient approach, and a willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

  • Experience with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
  • Patient, nurturing and resilient approach.
  • Full-time availability Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 support tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom environment.
  • Assisting with small group interventions and differentiated learning activities.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and implementing positive behaviour strategies.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
  • Adapting learning resources and approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
  • Helping create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Learning Support Assistant

South Manchester | Specialist SEN & SEMH Schools

Teaching Personnel are seeking compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to work within specialist schools across South Manchester. We are looking for individuals who want to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with a wide range of educational, behavioural and emotional needs.

Whether you come from an education, care, youth work or support background, this is an incredible opportunity to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students with a variety of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate and Complex Learning Difficulties
  • Sensory Processing Difficulties
  • Physical Disabilities

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 support tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom environment
  • Assisting with small group interventions and differentiated learning activities

  • Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm) preferred
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
