Job summary

Consett Academy is seeking a dedicated SEN Officer to join our supportive team. You will work with the SENCO to support students with special educational needs, liaising with families and external agencies to ensure tailored support.

Key duties include contributing to EHCPs, delivering targeted interventions, and monitoring progress to maximise student potential. A probationary period applies, with a comprehensive induction on joining the Trust.

SEN Officer
Term time plus 1 week
37 hours per week


Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs? Consett Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Officer to join our supportive and ambitious team.


Working closely with the SENCO, you will play a key role in supporting students with SEN to achieve their full potential. You will liaise with parents, carers and external agencies, contribute to the development and review of support plans and EHCPs, deliver targeted interventions, and help ensure that students receive the highest quality support both in and out of the classroom.


We are looking for someone with experience of working with children and young people with SEN, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a genuine commitment to inclusion and student success.
