Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is recruiting for a Primary & Secondary SEN School teaching assistant in Chelmsford for a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP. The role covers both primary and secondary cohorts with a focus on pupil wellbeing and tailored support.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs, a calm and resilient approach, and be able to support pupils with varying communication needs. DBS Update Service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable working across primary and secondary age groups.
• Confidence supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Support communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Follow EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Help maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encourage independence, confidence and social development.

Are you a patient, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to start a new role as soon as possible where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are working with a well-resourced and highly supportive SEN school in Chelsmford that caters for both primary and secondary-aged pupils. They are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision as soon as possible.

The Role

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes
