Job summary

London South East Colleges (LSEC) is seeking a dedicated learning support assistant to help students with SEN access education and College services. You will provide person-centred support, including personal care where required, and help students engage with activities and develop essential study skills.

Successful candidates will have strong literacy/numeracy, excellent communication, and organisational abilities, with a track record of working in diverse, safeguarding-focused environments.

Qualifications

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to build relationships with students, teachers, parent/carers and external agencies.
• Understanding of safeguarding and discrimination issues and challenges faced by learners with learning difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred learning support to students with SEN in secondary or FE settings, including personal care where necessary.
• Support learners individually or in small groups to engage with activities and develop study skills.
• Assist learners to access College services and participate in College-led activities; support personal development and educational outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff, parents and other agencies.
