Job summary

Academics are recruiting a SEN Learning Support Mentor for a specialist Alternative Provision setting in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. You will work alongside experienced teaching staff to help learners manage behaviour, engage in learning, and build social and emotional skills for life. The role is term-time only with a daily rate of £93–£105, start ASAP.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm. A DBS check is required or willingness to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN and behaviour support is advantageous.
• Safeguarding knowledge is important.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing training and development.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe and encouraging environment to help learners thrive.
• Assist with interventions to support social and emotional progress and regulation.
• Monitor achievements and help learners reach their full potential.
• Ensure safeguarding policies are followed at all times.
• Support learners' learning and personal development so they feel accepted and valued.
