Job summary

Academics in Cheltenham is seeking an experienced SEN Cover Teacher to support an Alternative Provision. You will deliver engaging lessons to learners with varied needs and work closely with teaching assistants to help each student progress academically, socially and emotionally.

The role is term-time only, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with daily rates of £140–£190. Start date ASAP; QTS is required and a clear DBS (or willingness to apply) is expected.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced teacher with a genuine passion for SEN education.
• Willing to obtain or already hold an Enhanced DBS.
• Able to adapt lessons for learners with additional needs.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching and safe learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
• Provide high quality teaching and learning opportunities across the curriculum.
• Support learners with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Create a calm, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with learners and work with teaching assistants.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback and targeted support.
• Maintain records of learner progress and development.
• Follow school policies and contribute to the wider school community.
