Job summary

Berrow Primary Church Academy in Berrow, England, is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join the SEND team on a fixed-term basis until 31 August 2027. The role is 30 hours per week during term time plus 5 INSET days, supporting pupils with individual needs and helping them engage in learning.

You will deliver planned lessons to small groups, maintain student records and liaise with staff, parents and carers, while upholding safeguarding standards and fostering inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Has experience supporting pupils with individual needs, particularly SEN.
• Can work independently, take initiative and adapt to changing needs.
• Confident delivering pre-planned lessons to small groups.
• Builds strong, positive relationships with students, staff and families.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom support for pupils, planned and supervised by teachers.
• Support colleagues with resource preparation, display and care and support of pupils including health care.
• Keep records of work to provide feedback and general support.
• Accurately record student records and liaise with colleagues, parents, carers and third parties when necessary.

GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4+) or Level 2 equivalent
