Job summary

Mount St Joseph Catholic School in Bolton is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to support pupils within a dynamic school community. You will work under the SEN Co-ordinator to access the curriculum and assist with teaching and safeguarding in a supportive environment.

The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and a commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity. The position offers term-time duties with 30 hours per week in a welcoming Catholic school setting.

Qualifications

Ability to relate well to children.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Ability to supervise and assist students.
Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality.
Commitment to equality and diversity, health and safety and safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

To work under the direction/guidance of the class teacher/SEN Co-ordinator to support pupils to access the curriculum.
To assist in delivering the provision as outlined in statements of SEN.
To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment.
Provide support for teaching and learning activities; contribute to students’ development and safeguarding.
Help to keep students safe, including maintaining a safe environment, dealing with accidents, supporting safeguarding.
To promote the inclusion of all students.
