Job summary

Mount St Joseph Catholic School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to join the Trust at the start of a journey of transition and growth within the multi-academy trust. The role supports pupils to access the curriculum, under the guidance of the class teacher and SEN Co-ordinator, in a caring and structured environment.

The post involves assisting with SEN provision, maintaining a safe and inclusive learning space, and contributing to safeguarding and pupil development.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to supervise and assist students.
• Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality.
• Commitment to equality and diversity, health and safety and safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils to access the curriculum as directed by the class teacher/SEN Co-ordinator.
• Assist in delivering SEN provision as outlined in statements.
• Maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive classroom environment.
• Provide support for teaching and learning activities and safeguarding of students.
• Promote student safety and inclusion.
