Job summary

Mount St Joseph Catholic School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to join our team in Bolton. This permanent, term-time role is 30 hours per week across 5 days. Start date as soon as possible with a closing date of 8 October 2026.

Salary: Grade 4 SCP 7-11 Actual Salary £19,189 - £19,945 (£27,274 - £27,709 FTE)

Term of Contract: Permanent

Hours per week: 30 over 5 days

Basis: Term-time + 5 days

Mount St Joseph Catholic School are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant (SEN). This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi-academy trust.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

• To have the ability to work under the direction/guidance of the class teacher/SEN Co-ordinator to support particular pupil(s) to access the curriculum in the most effective way, appropriate to their needs and understanding.
• To assist in the delivery of the provision as outlined in statements of special educational needs.
• To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment.
• Provide support for teaching and learning activities. Contribute to students’ development and safeguarding.
• Help to keep students safe, including maintaining a safe environment, dealing with accidents, supporting safeguarding.
• To promote the inclusion of all students.
