Job summary

Mount St Joseph Catholic School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to join our team and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive learning environment for diverse students.

Working under the direction of the class teacher/SEN Co-ordinator, you will assist in delivering SEN provision, support curriculum access, promote safeguarding, and help create a calm, well-organised classroom. We value dedication and a collaborative ethos across our multi-academy trust.

Responsibilities

• Support pupil(s) to access the curriculum under the guidance of the class teacher/SEN Co-ordinator.
• Assist in delivery of the provision outlined in statements of SEN.
• Assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment.
• Provide support for teaching and learning activities. Contribute to students’ development and safeguarding.
• Help to keep students safe, including maintaining a safe environment, dealing with accidents, supporting safeguarding.
• Promote the inclusion of all students.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

• To have the ability to work under the direction/guidance of the class teacher/SEN Co-ordinator to support particular pupil(s) to access the curriculum in the most effective way, appropriate to their needs and understanding.
