Job summary

Empowering Learning in Bolton seeks a dedicated Children's Support Worker to provide tailored support for students with special educational needs in a classroom setting. You will work one-to-one and in small groups, assisting with learning and behaviour plans alongside teachers and the SENCO.

The role focuses on promoting independence, social and emotional development, and inclusivity within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Experience working with children and young people with SEND in school or care settings.
Calm, patient, nurturing approach to supporting students with complex needs.
Excellent communication and ability to work with staff, parents and external agencies.
Flexibility, resilience and commitment to making a positive impact on students' lives.

Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND.
Develop and implement individualised learning and behaviour support plans with SENCO/teaching staff.
Monitor progress and maintain records; update teachers and parents.
Foster positive relationships and promote social and emotional development.
Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required.
Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment in line with school policies.
Participate in team meetings, training, and reviews.
Liaise with external agencies to ensure appropriate student support.
