Job summary

Riverbank Academy is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team. You will provide structured support to learners, assist teaching staff with developing academic and personal skills, and contribute to the tutorial programme as a co-tutor.

The role offers a supportive environment with opportunities for professional development and career progression, working with students aged 11–19 who have complex SEND needs. Interviews will be held after application.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 GCSEs or equivalent at C (4/5) or above, including English and Maths.
• Qualification to A level standard; desirable.
• Ability to support students aged 11–19 in moving and handling and personal care.
• Experience with groups of young people with complex SEND, preferably secondary age.
• Experience leading lessons in community, mainstream or special school contexts.
• Empathetic and understanding to students' needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide structured support and guidance in developing students' academic and individual needs.
• Provide in-class support to teachers and delivery practitioners.
• Assist with the tutorial program as a co-tutor.
