Job summary

Riverbank Academy is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to support teaching staff with literacy, numeracy and ICT development for learners aged 11–19. You will plan and deliver targeted interventions, working with individuals or small groups, and record progress to inform ongoing learning.

The role involves collaborative planning, monitoring outcomes and contributing to pupil development in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Grade C in English and Maths.
• Qualification to A level standard.
• Desirable experience leading lessons.
• Able to support students aged 11–19 in moving and handling and personal care.
• Strong communication with students, staff and parents.
• Experience with groups of young people with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement interventions with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom.
• Deliver programmes of support to smaller groups with minimal supervision.
• Monitor and record pupil responses to learning activities.
• Observe and record achievement and progress through planned observations.
