Job summary

Riverbank Academy is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to support teaching staff and develop learners’ provision.

You will plan and deliver interventions with individuals or groups, monitor progress, and record achievements to inform next steps. The role supports pupils aged 11–19, including those with complex SEND, in a supportive school environment with training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Literacy, numeracy and ICT skills improvement targets (Grade C in English and Maths).
• A level (AS/Level) qualification.
• Experience leading lessons in community, mainstream or specialist settings.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
• Ability to support pupils aged 11–19 in moving and handling and personal care.
• Strong communication with students, staff and parents.

Riverbank Academy currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Specialist Learning Support Assistant to join the team, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.

Job overview

You’ll be responsible for planning and implementing agreed interventions with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom, delivering programmes of support to smaller groups with minimal supervision, monitoring and recording pupil’s responses to learning activities through formal observations and planned recording of achievement and progress.

Job requirements

• A desire to continue to improve literacy, numeracy and ICT skills, with Grade C achieved in English and Maths
• Qualification to A level (AS/level) standard.
• desirableExperience of leading lessons within a community, mainstream or special school context
• Commitment to build upon your own learning through our structures
• Able to support students aged from 11-19 in moving and handling and personal care
