Job summary

Riverbank Academy is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to support teaching staff with literacy, numeracy and ICT development for learners aged 11–19. You will plan and deliver targeted interventions, working with individuals or small groups, and record progress to inform ongoing learning.

The role involves collaborative planning, monitoring outcomes and contributing to pupil development in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Grade C in English and Maths.
• Qualification to A level standard.
• Desirable experience leading lessons.
• Able to support students aged 11–19 in moving and handling and personal care.
• Strong communication with students, staff and parents.
• Experience with groups of young people with SEND.

Responsibilities

Riverbank Academy currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Specialist Learning Support Assistant to join the team, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.

Job overview

You’ll be responsible for planning and implementing agreed interventions with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom, delivering programmes of support to smaller groups with minimal supervision, monitoring and recording pupil’s responses to learning activities through formal observations and planned recording of achievement and progress.

Job requirements

• A desire to continue to improve literacy, numeracy and ICT skills, with Grade C achieved in English and Maths
• Qualification to A level (AS/level) standard.

• Commitment to build upon your own learning through our structures
