Job summary

Riverbank Academy is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to assist teaching staff in developing and delivering targeted interventions for learners aged 11–19, inside and outside the classroom.

You will plan and implement interventions, support literacy, numeracy and ICT development, and help learners access activities with minimal supervision. The role offers professional growth within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Desire to improve literacy, numeracy and ICT with grade C in English and Maths.
• Qualification to A level (AS/Level) standard.
• Desirable experience leading lessons in community, mainstream or special school contexts.
• Commitment to continuing learning through organisational structures.
• Ability to support 11–19 year olds in moving and handling and personal care.
• Good communication with students, staff and parents; experience with SEND groups.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement agreed interventions with individuals or groups.

• Monitor and record pupil responses to learning activities through observations and progress records.
• Capture achievement data and report progress to teaching staff.

Riverbank Academy currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Specialist Learning Support Assistant to join the team, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.

Job overview

You’ll be responsible for planning and implementing agreed interventions with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom, delivering programmes of support to smaller groups with minimal supervision, monitoring and recording pupil’s responses to learning activities through formal observations and planned recording of achievement and progress.

Job requirements

• A desire to continue to improve literacy, numeracy and ICT skills, with Grade C achieved in English and Maths
• Qualification to A level (AS/level) standard.
