Job summary

Academics are recruiting on behalf of a residential SEN school in Andover for a Learning Support Assistant to join on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis starting in September.

The role involves supporting pupils aged 11-19 with Autism and related needs, in a rural setting with a driving-affected commute. GCSEs in Maths and English are required, and previous SEN experience is beneficial. Hours are term-time, with a salary of £14.24 per hour.

Qualifications

• Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C/4–9 or higher.
• Experience in SEN is advantageous but not required; requires empathetic, calm support approach.
• Full-time availability; driving license/own car preferred due to rural location.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in groups and 1:1 as needed.
• Assist with implementing individualised learning and care plans for Asperger-friendly curriculum.
• Help build positive relationships and support the teacher in meeting needs.
