Job summary

Learn Academies Trust is seeking a Part-time Learning Support Assistant to join our school team in Church Langton. You will work under the supervision of a teacher to support pupils, including 1:1 work with SEN learners and small groups, in line with school policies.

You will help deliver planned activities, monitor pupil progress, maintain a safe learning environment, and contribute to literacy and numeracy development.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
• Able to demonstrate the STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards relevant to this post

Responsibilities

• To provide agreed support to the teacher in delivering planned whole class learning activities.
• To work under the direct supervision of a teacher to carry out planned learning activities with individual pupils or small groups, providing feedback on engagement and achievement of learning objectives.
• To help prepare, monitor and maintain a safe and secure learning environment in line with lesson plans.
• To observe and feedback to the teacher on pupil performance and behaviour, taking action in line with school policies.
• To support the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of pupils, and contribute ideas to support planning.
• To interact with and respond positively to children, young people and adults.
• To develop positive relationships with colleagues and work as part of the school staff team.
• To support pupils to improve numeracy and literacy through focused activities and across the curriculum.
• To prepare and utilise ICT resources to support pupils learning.
