Job summary

Learn Academies Trust is seeking a part-time Learning Support Assistant to join the Church Langton Church of England Primary School team. The role runs 30 hours a week across 39 weeks (38 term-time weeks plus one week during holidays) with hours 8:45am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday, including a half-hour unpaid lunchbreak.

The successful candidate will work under a teacher to support 1:1 and small groups, assist whole-class activities and support SEN pupils, with NVQ 2 in STL or equivalent

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or ability to meet STL Level 2 standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
• Provide agreed support to the teacher in planned whole class activities.
• Work under teacher supervision on planned learning activities with pupils, giving feedback on engagement and progress.
• Help prepare, monitor and maintain a safe learning environment aligned to lesson plans.
• Observe and feedback to the teacher on pupil performance and behaviour per school policy.
• Support the development of pupils' numeracy and literacy skills across the curriculum.
• Prepare and utilise ICT resources to support pupil learning.
