Job summary

Goffs-Churchgate Academy in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, seeks a Learning Support Assistant to deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEND and to work with teachers and the SENCO to apply EHCP strategies and track progress. Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people in a school or similar setting.
• Ability to support learning in 1:1 and small-group settings, including literacy and numeracy work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Commitment to the safety, welfare and inclusion of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide focused support to students with additional needs in class, in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
• Implement and follow EHCP strategies, liaising with teachers and the SENCO to plan and review support.
• Run literacy, numeracy and bespoke intervention sessions and record progress.
• Help prepare and adapt classroom materials in coordination with subject teachers.
• Build trusting relationships with students to encourage inclusion and positive behaviour.
• Contribute to pastoral care, attend staff meetings and INSET, and take part in Health Care Plan reviews.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
