Job summary

St James' CofE Academy is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with various needs, including those with EHCPs. You will work with the SENCO and class teachers to adapt learning, apply support strategies and ensure pupils access the curriculum confidently.

This hands-on role focuses on staying engaged, breaking learning into manageable steps, and using appropriate communication and behaviour strategies to meet individual needs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs
• Ability to implement learning support strategies
• Strong communication and behaviour management

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of needs
• Help pupils access the curriculum by adapting learning activities
• Support social, emotional and personal development to build independence
• Assist with personal care and intervention programmes where required
