Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd. is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help autistic children thrive in a Borehamwood school. The role supports academic and social development under supervision, with a focus on personalised strategies and collaborative planning.

The position is full-time, 8:30am–4pm, Monday to Friday, with a temp-to-perm pathway. A relevant childcare qualification and DBS clearance are highly valued; drivers’ license is beneficial.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to create and deliver engaging activities.

Salary: From £90 to £115 per day

We are working with a highly rated school in the Borehamwood area that prides itself on creating a caring and supportive environment. The school is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support autistic children and help them succeed both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with teachers to create and deliver engaging learning activities
• Supporting students through personalised action plans and strategies to aid progress
• Assisting with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy programmes
• Working closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to provide tailored support
• Building positive, therapeutic relationships with students and responding to their individual needs

We d love to hear from you if you:

• Have experience working with autistic children, or a strong desire to develop in this area
• Understand SEN and are committed to learning and professional growth
• Can commit to full-time 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday
• Holding a relevant qualification such as NVQ in Childcare and Education, or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is highly desired
• May have experience in residential care, school support roles, or personal experience with ASC
• Are willing to complete training such as Team Teach, TEACCH, or positive handling
• Have experience supporting independence and social-emotional development in young people
• Hold a clear and valid DBS, or are willing to obtain one
• Driving license preferred
