Job summary

Ossett Academy is seeking a proactive SEN Learning Mentor to provide tailored one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs. The role focuses on promoting inclusion, collaborating with Lead Learning Mentors and the SENCo to deliver targeted interventions and develop skills, confidence and independence.

The postholder will design and source resources, support academic progress and wellbeing, and provide pastoral care including first aid.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Knowledge of numeracy and literacy development techniques
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and external agencies
• Commitment to inspiring and motivating young people to reach their potential

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one tailored support for pupils with additional learning needs
• Design, adapt and source high-quality resources for individual learning needs
• Deliver targeted interventions to enable curriculum access and progress
• Provide high-quality pastoral care and practical support including first aid
• Support a pupil on a one-to-one basis for the duration of placement
