Job summary

FOX MORRIS GROUP LTD is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Mentor to work with children and young people with Special Educational Needs. The role focuses on tailoring support to help students achieve educational, social and emotional goals within a collaborative school setting.

You will build strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals, using one-to-one and small group strategies, monitoring progress and contributing to review meetings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Mentor to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support to help them achieve their educational, social, and emotional goals.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with additional needs and who can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Implement personalised learning and support strategies in line with individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to support plans and reviews.
  • Accompany pupils to educational and community-based activities where required.
Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work-related travel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
