Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced SEN English Teacher for a secondary SEN school in Epping. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to learners with additional needs, aged 11–18, in a calm, supportive setting.

Ideal candidates will have QTS, PGCE or equivalent, and strong SEN experience. You will collaborate across a multidisciplinary team and contribute to ongoing student progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification required.
• PGCE or equivalent training completed.
• Experience in SEN education, secondary preferred.
• Strong classroom management and behavior support.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils aged 11–18.
• Adapt curriculum to meet diverse needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, supportive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships to support engagement and progress.
• Coordinate with SEN support staff, therapists and school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report pupil progress per school standards.
• Support positive behaviour management across the classroom.

Job Title: SEN English Teacher

Location: SEN Secondary school Epping

Job Type: Full-time (5 days a week)

Working Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30pm

Start Date: After October Half Term

Role Overview

I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Epping.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.
