Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced SEN English Teacher for an SEN school in Epping. The role involves delivering accessible English lessons to pupils aged 11–18 with diverse needs and SEMH requirements.

You will join an intimate teaching team, adapt curricula, assess progress and foster a supportive, positive learning environment. Immediate interviews and ongoing professional development are available.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• PGCE or equivalent training.
• Experience in SEN education (secondary preferred).
• Strong classroom management.
• Patient, resilient, adaptable approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

SEN English Teacher

Job Title: SEN English Teacher

Location: Epping

Job Type: Full-time (5 days a week)

Working Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30pm

Start Date: After October Half Term

Role Overview

I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Epping.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.
