Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced SEN English Teacher to join a dedicated team at an SEN secondary school in Epping. The role focuses on delivering engaging English lessons to pupils aged 11-18 with diverse SEN and SEMH needs, supporting their learning journey and confidence.

You will plan tailored lessons, collaborate with SEN staff and therapists, and contribute to a positive classroom environment that fosters progress and well-being.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• PGCE or equivalent training is required.
• Experience in SEN education (Secondary preferred).
• Strong classroom management.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils aged 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress.
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behaviour management across the classroom.

Role Overview

I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Epping. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience
