Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced SEN English Teacher for a secondary SEN school in Epping. The role focuses on delivering English lessons to pupils ages 11–18 with complex needs, leveraging SEN and SEMH expertise to support learning, confidence and progression.

The successful candidate will work within a supportive team, plan differentiated lessons, and contribute to ongoing professional development with immediate interview opportunities.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• PGCE or equivalent training.
• Experience in SEN education (secondary preferred).
• Strong classroom management.
• Patient, resilient, adaptable approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible SEN-focused lessons for 11–18-year-olds.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured learning environment and monitor progress.
• Work closely with SEN support staff and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behaviour management across the classroom.

Job Title: SEN English Teacher

Location: SEN Secondary school Epping

Job Type: Full-time (5 days a week)

Working Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30pm

Start Date: After October Half Term

Role Overview

I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Epping.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.
