Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced SEN English Teacher for an SEN secondary school in Epping. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, adapting content to a wide range of needs for ages 11–18, and work closely with SEN support staff.

Candidates must hold QTS with PGCE or equivalent, and have SEN experience; strong classroom management and collaborative approach required. Immediate interviews with potential permanent placement after probation.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• PGCE or equivalent training.
• Experience in SEN education (Secondary preferred).
• Strong classroom management and student engagement.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils aged 11–18 in an SEN setting.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet diverse needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, supportive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and families to support progress.
• Collaborate with SEN support staff, therapists and school teams.
• Monitor and report pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behaviour management across the classroom.

Role Overview

I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Epping. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.

Candidate Requirements
