Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced English Teacher with extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join a small SEN school in Epping. You will support children and young people with complex needs, helping them learn, build confidence and reach their potential.

Key responsibilities include planning and delivering accessible lessons for ages 11–18, adapting content to diverse needs, creating a safe learning environment, and collaborating with SEN staff and therapists.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
• Experience in SEN education, preferably at secondary level.
• Strong classroom management and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEN/SEMH.
• Teach pupils aged 11–18 with diverse needs.
• Monitor progress and adapt instruction to individual learning goals.
• Collaborate with SEN support staff and therapists to support learners.
• Maintain a safe, structured classroom environment and manage behavior.

Job description

I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Epping.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.

Candidates Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• PGCE or Equivalent training
• Experience in SEN education (Secondary preferred)
• Strong classroom management
• Patient, resilient, adaptable approach
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
