Job summary

An experienced English Teacher with SEN and SEMH expertise is needed in an SEN school in Epping. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons for pupils aged 11–18 and adapt inputs to meet complex needs.

You will work closely with SEN support staff and therapists, monitor progress, and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment that promotes confidence and inclusion. A patient, resilient, and collaborative practitioner with QTS and DBS clearance is sought; the role offers long-term

Qualifications

• QTS is required and must be active.
• PGCE or equivalent training completed.
• SEN education experience, preferably secondary.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Epping.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.

Candidates Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• PGCE or Equivalent training
• Experience in SEN education (Secondary preferred)
• Strong classroom management
• Patient, resilient, adaptable approach
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
