Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant in a SEN classroom in the Trafford area. The role provides one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND, including those with autism and ADHD, promoting independence and positive development.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers and therapists, to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. Term-time hours are 8:30am-4:00pm, with November start, in a permanent full-time position.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people with SEND in schools or care settings.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach to supporting students with complex needs.
• Strong communication with staff, parents and external agencies.
• Willingness to participate in training and development opportunities.
• Commitment to inclusive, safe learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to SEND students.
• Develop individualised learning and behaviour support plans with staff.
• Monitor progress and maintain records, updating teachers and parents.
• Foster positive relationships and support social-emotional development.
• Assist with personal care and mobility as needed.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, nurturing classroom aligned with policies.
