Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support secondary pupils (11-16) with SEMH needs in a specialist educational setting in Liverpool. You will provide tailored classroom and 1:1 support to help pupils engage, build relationships and reach their potential.

The role requires prior SEMH experience, strong behaviour management, a patient and resilient approach, and a current DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Qualifications

• Previous SEMH experience is essential.
• Experience supporting secondary-aged students.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs in a classroom and one-to-one setting.
• Help students engage with learning and develop positive relationships.
• Maintain strong behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Provide tailored support to enable pupils to reach their potential.
