Job summary

Esland Group is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 8 to 18 with SEMH at Daven School, Congleton. You will work alongside class teachers to deliver a broad, balanced and functional curriculum, with a focus on trauma-informed practice and behavior support.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, with a salary of £23,520–£25,357 per year dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Appropriate knowledge of first aid.
• Ability to relate well to children and adults.
• Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.
• To have some knowledge of National Curriculum requirements.
• Effective knowledge and use of ICT to support learning.
• Understanding of relevant polices/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.
• Basic understanding of child development and learning.
• Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
• Prior experience in supporting Forest Schools is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers to help learners fulfil their potential.
• Work with individual students or small groups to access a broad, balanced and functional curriculum.
• Demonstrate trauma-informed practices and support positive mental health.
• Assist with behaviour management and inclusive education.
