Job summary

Esland Group’s SEN School in Ditton Priors is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH needs. You will work alongside class teachers to help learners access a broad, balanced curriculum and develop independence.

The role is full time, based on site, with a competitive salary (£23,520–£25,357) and a comprehensive induction plus career development opportunities; experience with trauma-informed approaches and safeguarding is valued.

Qualifications

• First aid knowledge and the ability to respond to emergencies.
• Ability to relate well to children and adults.
• Work constructively as part of a team within a classroom environment.
• Some knowledge of National Curriculum requirements and ICT to support learning.
• Awareness of relevant policies, codes of practice and safeguarding.
• Basic understanding of child development and learning.
• Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and seek opportunities to develop.
• Willingness to work with children with SEMH needs and trauma-informed approaches.

Responsibilities

• Support students to fulfil their potential and develop independence.
• Work with class teachers to support learning and access to a broad curriculum.
• Assist individual students or small groups as required.
